Kathy Nyland, Holly Krejci and Jan Bultmann

Kathy Nyland, Legislative Aide

Kathy Nyland is one of those California types who moved to Washington and forgot to leave. She has never met a meeting she didn't like and is often seen reading EIS reports, with post-it notes and highlighter in hand. Despite rumors to the contrary, she does occasionally leave the confines of Georgetown. A little bit Martha Stewart and a little bit Jimmy Stewart, she thinks being called a 'policy wonk' is a compliment. With her new position, Kathy completes the political trinity of "beat City Hall," "work with City Hall," and "work at City Hall." A proud Cal alum, she beseeches the college football deities to one day let her spend New Year's Day in Pasadena. When not toiling for the good of the neighborhood, district, and city, she's often found in the company of her partner and their three canines.

Holly Krejci, Legislative Aide
A circuitous and curious migratory pattern deposited Holly Krejci in the Northwest after stints in Colorado, Alabama, and Hawaii. As a former collegiate soccer player, she used to bend it like Beckham; she now coaches youth soccer and prefers to dunk it like donut. Holly has never outgrown her absolute distaste for vegetables and believes that Diet Coke is the official seventh food group. Equally saccharine is her taste in "classical" music, most notably that of Garth Brooks, WHAM!, and the blue-eyed soul of Michael McDonald. Her daily makeup regime is limited to mascara, chapstick and a hat. Armed with a degree in rhetoric and questionable sense of humor, Holly is doubly-prepared for the conditions of City Hall.

Jan Bultmann, Legislative Aide

Jan Bultmann grew up in Bellingham and moved to Seattle, well, a long time ago. Having explored the many pleasures of being a contractor for a temp agency, a small business owner, a manager at a midsize company, and an employee at an absolutely enormous enterprise, Jan brings a well-rounded experience of the private sector to her work for the councilmember. Her background is in project management and technical writing, but that didn’t stop her from becoming a certified yoga teacher, licensed massage therapist, or taking on other right-brain pursuits (keeping her day job). A former volunteer for DESC, Lifelong AIDS Alliance, Project Alchemy, Voices in Wartime, and Richard Hugo House, Jan recently discovered her inner public servant and is grateful and honored to be working at City Hall.
