2012 Police Officer Exam Dates: LATERAL POLICE OFFICER EXAM Exam Dates: February 27 - March 2, 2012 All candidates for this exam MUST meet the criteria for a lateral police officer in order to participate in this exam process. Candidates are responsible for ensuring that they meet the criteria for taking the lateral exam before applying to take the test. (See http://www.cityofseattle.net/police/jobs/ for lateral police officer criteria.) February 27: Candidates will participate in the written exam. Papers will be graded on site. Candidates who pass the written exam will complete a Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ). February 28 – March 2: Candidates who pass the written exam will be scheduled to participate in an oral board interview. Out-of-state candidates who pass both the written exam and oral board interviews will have an interview with a background detective. In-state candidates will be interviewed by a background detective at a later date. Applicants for this exam must apply online during the application filing period.
