Job Training and Work Environment
The Seattle Police Parking Enforcement Unit serves on foot or in a vehicle to issue tickets to overtime parking violators and illegally parked vehicles. Traffic control duties are performed in situations that require City response. Emergencies are responded to as directed or assigned. Work coverage is provided by Parking Enforcement Officers working seven different shifts.
Upon successful completion of an extensive eight-week training program and learning the job, Parking Enforcement Officers have the potential to become a Field Training Officer or compete for promotional opportunities to Parking Enforcement Officer Supervisor and Manager.
The Department appreciates the importance of Parking Enforcement Officers. In addition to providing extensive training and on the job experience, state of the art equipment is provided to efficiently perform job duties.
