Project Description
In 2014, overhead temporary cables were installed when the Thornton Creek bridge was rebuilt. To permanently restore the electrical infrastructure, Seattle City Light crews will install underground electrical conduits and cables on 35th Avenue NE.
Location
Construction will occur on 35th Avenue NE, south of NE 110th Street. This is located near Nathan Hale High School.

Community Benefits
- This work is needed to permanently restore the electrical infrastructure along 35th Avenue NE.
Anticipated Impacts
- Crews will be trenching on the east side of 35th Avenue NE, near NE 110th Street. The trench work will impact the street, sidewalk and planting strip.
- Customers can expect temporary parking, sidewalk and traffic restrictions during this project. Flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone.
- New sidewalks will be installed as part of the project.
- Some parking may be taken up on 35th Avenue NE for truck and equipment storage. Crews will also maintain access to any driveways affected by construction.
- Crews will work closely with the Seattle Department of Transportation's (SDOT) Urban Forestry group to ensure the protection of trees. SDOT staff may be onsite to monitor this work.
- Some noise is expected during construction.
- Maintenance power outages are required to do the work safely. Affected customers will be notified in advance of any planned outage.
- Construction Start: Nov. 9, 2020
- Duration: Approximately eight weeks
- Daily Work Schedule: Mon-Fri: 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Some weekend work may be needed.
