Location
The planned work will occur along 41st Avenue Northeast, between 43rd Place Northeast and Northeast 95th Street.
What's Happening Now?
Project Update (July 2023): This project is 90% complete. Remaining work will be completed by the end of 2023.
Community Benefits
- This work will enhance electrical reliability and reduce the likelihood of unplanned power outages in the area.
Anticipated Impacts
- After the civil work is completed, Seattle City Light crews will replace the damaged underground cables in the Meadowbrook area. These conduits protect the underground cables, and the vaults will add more flexibility to the routing of power supply.
- Customers can expect parking, sidewalk, and traffic impacts within the construction work zone. Construction signage and traffic control flaggers will redirect pedestrians and vehicles where needed.
- City Light will need to conduct planned outages to perform the work safely. The contractor will notify affected residents in advance of any planned work.
- City Light will be performing this work under a noise variance permit. Customers can expect some noise due to heavy machinery, trucks, and other equipment.
