I'm a Seattle-area native and University of Washing graduate, with degrees in Political Science and Spanish. I have lived and worked in Spain and Alaska.

I formerly served as Legislative Aide to City Councilmember Nick Licata. My areas of focus included staffing the Finance committee, transportation, budget, utilities, neighborhood issues, the minimum wage, marijuana policy, nightlife and music, and environment and sustainability. I also served as public disclosure officer, and staffed issues related to the Council Presidency. When not working, I enjoy soccer, photography, swimming, cycling, and live music.

Christena joins Councilmember Herbold’s office with a decade of experience working on homelessness and affordable housing, and deep commitment to ensuring all residents can find a home in our beautiful city. Her nonprofit career gave her experience in human services and arts administration, and she has consulted on communications and strategy. She was a summer camp director a very long time ago, and she still channels that upbeat energy for her work every day. She was thrilled to manage CM Herbold’s re-election campaign and meet so many passionate District 1 folks.

Christena holds a B.A. in Sociology from Barnard College, Columbia University, and a Masters in Nonprofit Leadership from Seattle University. She has served on the boards of Washington Low Income Housing Alliance, Shunpike, Northwest Girls Coalition, and spent a decade volunteering at Crisis Connections. A lifelong Washingtonian and devoted theatre-goer, she and her husband are doting parents to Spike and Drusilla, their adorable rescue pugs.
