Stop the Bleed
Bleeding control application and practice
Life-threatening bleeding injuries can happen anytime. When they do, every minute counts! Stop the Bleed empowers participants to take action!
Our trained instructors teach the community about bleeding control: recognizing life-threatening bleeding, using a tourniquet, and packing and applying pressure to a wound.
When faced with a severe bleeding wound, you must first apply pressure with your hands, then apply the dressing and continue to apply pressure to the wound. Thirdly, you apply a tourniquet and note the time. Call 911 as soon as you can.
