In 2023, DON partnered with Smash the Box to update our Neighborhood Snapshots to reflect the new Council District boundaries and other information. Seattle has more than 33 neighborhoods, we produced these overviews based on the following criteria:

Includes major transit activity and infrastructure
Has a large City project that would impact it within the next three years
Had a high population of historically underserved communities

Data and Neighborhood Boundaries

The data found in the Neighborhood Snapshots comes from the American Community Survey (ACS). The neighborhood boundaries used by the ACS are called Community Reporting Areas, which are not necessarily the same boundaries that people in the city think of for their neighborhoods.
