About The P-Patch
Shiga's Community Garden P-Patch
Shiga's Community Garden started out as an empty lot in 2009, left undeveloped for more than 30 years. Neighborhood volunteers worked to transform the property into a new P-Patch for Seattle's University District and started planting in 2010. The Shiga's Garden's land agreement is year-to-year and the landowner may choose to construct an apartment building here in the future. For more information on the gardens namesake and community organizer Andy Shiga, check out the History page of Shiga's Imports.
