Morgan Junction Park Addition
Updated: July 18, 2024
Summer 2024
Work on removing the hazardous soil from the new parcel, formerly used as a dry cleaner, will start in early August 2024 and will last for approximately 8 weeks. This work will include demolition of the existing concrete and asphalt, installation of temporary shoring, and excavating down to 16’ to remove the lens of dry-cleaning solvents. Then clean fill will be added, topsoil, temporary irrigation, and grass.
Design and permitting work for the addition project continues. SPR is working with community partner Morgan Junction All Wheels Association (MJAWA) to integrate an all-wheels skate-dot into the project. MJAWA working with Grindline Skateparks has gathered community input on potential designs. SPR and MJAWA will work towards integrating the skate-dot into the larger project for permitting and construction.
