West Queen Anne Playfield Lighting Replacement

This project will replace the aging wooden playfield poles on West Queen Anne "Big Howe" Playfield. The project will include the removal of 14 wooden poles with light fixtures and installation of 10 metal poles and energy efficient LED lights with hoods. The new lights will reduce light spill into the neighborhood and sky. The project will also update the hub for new wiring and control system.
During construction, the fields will be closed. Seattle Parks and Recreation and the contractor hired for the project will work to minimize impact to the roadways, neighborhood, and heritage trees on the east side of the field.

Budget
The Seattle Park District and the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) Grant provide $1.2M for this project.
