What Is It?

The Applicant Services Center is closed to in-person visits until further notice. See SDCI Service Updates in Response to COVID-19 for information on how to access our services online.

Our Applicant Services Center (ASC) is the hub of our permitting services. In the ASC you can:

  • Get a free 20-minute coaching session with a permit specialist or land use planner
  • Get a free 15-minute coaching session with a geotechnical engineer, mechanical engineer, or drainage reviewer
  • Get, change, or verify an address
  • Determine your project development site with a permit specialist
  • Submit your subject-to-field-inspection construction permit
  • Attend pre-submittal conferences
  • Pay your permit and rental registration fees; you can also pay fees through the Seattle Services Portal

We serve walk-ins on a first-come, first-served basis for each service. Give yourself plenty of time. If wait times are long, you may not be seen.

Location and Hours

The ASC is located on the 20th floor of the Seattle Municipal Tower, 700 5th Avenue, in downtown Seattle.


Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Tuesday, Thursday: 10:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Other Agency Permits & Approvals

For some projects, you will need to coordinate with other City and County agencies to get additional permits and approvals. Common agencies you may need to work with are:
