Senior Programming

Regional Reduced Fare Permit Picture

In 2019, the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) launched the our Senior Programming, formerly called the Regional Reduced Fare Permit (RRFP) Program, to provide older adults and riders with disabilities affordable access and education for transportation in the Puget Sound region. In 2023, TAP's Senior Programming expanded to work with a wider range of senior and community centers across Seattle.

What do we do?

TAP partners with the non-profit Hopelink and various senior centers to put on culturally centered and language appropriate transit-oriented educational opportunites for older adults. These educational opportunities help seniors gain confidence in navigating our city's burgeoning transit system.

Seniors interested in discouted transit fares can visit our Resource Library that provides additional information about the RRFP Card and how to use it! King County Metro's RRFP ORCA card entitles senior riders (ages 65+), riders with a disability (ages 6-64), and Medicare cardholders to $1.50 reduced fare on transit.
