Project Description
Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) owns and operates a stormwater storage tank in Washington Park near the Washington Park Playfield.
For this project, SPU performed a maintenance upgrade to improve the way this facility manages flows during rain events. This work improves SPU's ability to monitor and control stormwater flows and allows us to use our existing infrastructure more efficiently.
Location
SPU's stormwater storage tank is located near the Washington Park Playfield in the southern portion of Washington Park near E Roy Street, 29th Avenue E, and E Madison Street.
Project Results
SPU performed this work to enhance the functionality of the infrastructure, increase service reliability, improve regional water quality, and to improve SPU’s ability to manage flows more efficiently.
Timeline
Construction began in May 2021 and was completed in April 2022.
